It happens every spring, and like the season, hope springs eternal for every team except for the A’s, White Sox, Royals, Nationals, Rockies, Pirates, and Tigers: for these hard-luck franchises, it’s always winter

Still, even for those of us scarred and bloodied by season after season of defeat and disappointment, right around Valentine’s Day, the love affair resumes

Across the Grapefruit and Cactus Leagues, the difficult game of baseball will be taught, practiced, refined, and mastered by Opening Day
