Liberating

I think I shall never see

A poem lovely as a tree

With all due respect Mr. Kilmer

Most trees are one-trick stumps

All leaves and no action

Now take the graceful palm tree

A tall palm can soar seven stories

Nature’s 70-foot ballerinas spinning

windy pirouettes swaying back and forth bending not breaking

A liberating concept to mere mortals

Poems are made by fools like me

But only God can make a palm tree
